The Journey of Instincts...
This is a small but incredibly fascinating world, where I am reduced to a tiny blue dot… my destination is marked in holy red and my journey to that red mark is clearly charted out with easy to follow directions too… sometimes with multiple routes so that I can choose the one I please !!… all I have to do is keep following the route marked as a blue line and ensure that my blue dot remains on the line till the end…
This is the easiest and fastest way to reach the destination… it does sometime happen that I get distracted and move away from the charted path… then go round and round, thoroughly confused, asking for help, wanting to see myself on that blue line again… and when back on that blue line, the feeling is that of ecstasy… this blue line for me is the safest way ahead, is certain to get me to my destination without any hurdles, and make my journey absolutely effortless… it is only wise of me to stick to it…
This world of GPS is as real as it is virtual… GPS may be an old marvel, but I discovered it only recently… and since I started using it, life has become so much more laid-back… today, I have no fear of unknown, for I know GPS will show me way to the farthest and remotest and randomest location… now I love my drives all the more…
Sometimes, I do feel that this dependence on GPS has crippled me to some extent… earlier, would drive around on my instincts and where instincts didn’t work, would take directions from bystanders… in the process, would glance all around and register signals and landmarks, signposts and banners, attractions and distractions, people and places… when all hurdles were cleared, the journey remained etched in mind… a journey that was always very enriching… next time when I had to revisit the place, mind would auto-direct and the journey would be doubly enjoyable…
With GPS, eyes are mostly juggling between the map and the road… focus is the blue line and the red mark of destination, everything around is then insignificant and hence overlooked… if I have to revisit the place, my mind is anyways blank, and my sole savior is GPS again…
Now put this in perspective of our life’s journey, where the blue line is the most treaded and safest path… how would it be to ignore the safe path and chart your own journey on your instincts?… what would be more enriching and all the more satisfying? Guess the answer is obvious……
