Traversing the soil...
That
night as I rested my head on the familiar pillow, my mind started spewing out
vivid images one after the other… it kept wondering how captivating every place
on this earth is… it kept wanting to go back to all those places… it kept
wandering through images of those places for a long time, till finally it gave
in to the tiredness and slept off… We were back from a long self-driven road
trip, that had uncovered some of the most scenic landscapes, diverse cultural
settings and strikingly pleasant people through the journey… Am still carrying
those embellished images within me… Driving through the starry night, humming to the tunes of soft romantic songs playing in backdrop, a gleaming full moon keeping us company and brightening up the road ahead… Amit driving, me navigating and our bundles sitting behind, delightfully enjoying the drive with us.. it was a perfect world, a world complete in itself and moved at its pace… sometimes zooming past rest of the world, sometimes slowing down to absorb into its fold the mountains and the valleys, the sea and the sands, the forests and the fields, the turns and the bends, the sun and the shades, the twilight and the moonlight, the faces and the smiles and every fascinating element that we encountered on the way… or was it that these elements were engulfing us into their fold?
Traversing
the soil, absorbing the world as it exists, in substance, is always an
amazingly enriching experience… such journeys are always full of surprises and
unexpected situations… away from the comforts of home, thrown into unfamiliar
settings, every moment in the journey is new and unique, never lived before and
never will be lived again… sitting in a little corner of the world, one can
only dream of such journeys… leaving that corner behind, setting out to explore
and discover new journeys, helps us discover ourselves… the change that these
journeys bring in us is profoundly deep and permanent…For me, such journeys, traversing the soil, by themselves become the destination…
