A drenched tryst with an incomplete love...

It had rained unexpectedly, one of those sporadic showers, that took him by complete surprise.. he ran to the farther side of the road in search of a shed, and took refuge under a bus-stop that barely covered few more people in there… rains kept lashing on him from one side, he stepped back, almost stepping onto someone… he turned around to see that someone, and there she was… seeing her, he congealed… he had finally found her, a long wait seemed to have come to an end… he had found his love, a love he had left behind as he had moved ahead… love that he missed the most whenever he had looked back… love that had left him wanting and incomplete all this while…

He stood there, moved by what he was seeing, yet unmoved… he was all drenched, water dripping down his body… his wringing wet hair, had settled down around his face, made him look strikingly attractive… he stood there, staring at her, holding onto her, in his thoughts… the droplets trickled down his face, mounting up on his long slender eyelashes… the eyelids flickering briskly under heaviness of the droplets… yet he stood there, gazing at her, clinging onto her, in his thoughts…

Behind those falling streams of water on his face, were those deep brown eyes… eyes that were craving for her, that were longing for her, she was right there, still he remained unmoved… he was wet and cold, yet he was exuding warmth, warmth that filled up his heart, warmth that he felt for her, warmth that he wanted to engulf her in, melt her in… but he remained unmoved, and he remained cold…

Then like a flash of lightening, he moved, and he moved back… moved away from her… he wiped his face, and his eyes, seemingly his tears… he could not have her, he could not possess her, he could not embrace her, he moved farther from her… but he still seemed to hold onto her, just in his thoughts…

He was hoping and praying, to gather courage and move closer to her… but she was walking away with someone else, she belonged to that someone else… the rain had stopped, clearing up the air… and also his mind… she paced away, took all his warmth away, while he stood there, wet and cold… and now frozen too…
